Luke has had the Xplora X5 Play watch for two and half weeks now and so far this 8-year old still enjoys wearing his X5 Play smartwatch. We want our third grader to stay active and have fun doing it but want to monitor where he’s at and what he’s doing as well. The Xplora X5 Play watch is a combination of a phone, smartwatch, activity tracker and has the GoPlay platform (incentives to get kids up and moving). We had heard of smartwatches for kids but found that the Xplora X5 Play Smartwatch has all the features we were looking for. consumers (right in time for the holidays)! The Xplora X5 is currently available for purchase on Amazon and Xplora’s website. The Xplora X5 Play watch is the first time Xplora is available to U.S. If you haven’t heard about Xplora– it’s an electronic company located in Norway that’s best known in Europe for creating popular mobile smartwatches that keep kids safe and active. Especially during remote learning from home. It’s a good balance between screen time and getting some much needed physical activity. And we figured now is the best time to get our 8 year a smartwatch that we can all benefit from. So….we found a fun and interactive solution for Luke to stay active– the Xplora X5 Play Smartwatch. Although he has breaks during remote learning, he doesn’t really have a real recess, which he misses very much. But the one thing we are all trying to work on is trying to stay active, especially keeping Luke active. The one great thing about remote learning for Luke and working from home for me and Charlie is that we all get to spend more time with each other.

You can add rules, behaviours, and attributes to actor prototypes and instances. This is where you define how your actors will “work” in your game. So if you were building a side-to-side platformer game, you could have, say, an Earth-based scene and a Moon-based scene: Each scene can have unique attributes that describe it – for example, a different visual background, or a different gravity setting. The Scenes tab allows you create scenes, or different “views”, in your game. You can always change your initial selection, but you may find yourself with a lot of work on your hands if you begin, say, with an iPhone-based game, and change to an iPad-based game (as the amount of available screen space is much larger for an iPad, which means you might have to move a lot of actors around and change some of your game logic). Take care when choosing the platform option. The title, description, instructions, and tags that you provide will be used if you choose to publish your game (either for free access on the Web, or as a paid application on Apple’s App Store). In the Project Info tab, fill in basic information about your game. You will move between these tabs often when creating your game. Take note of the four tabs near the top of the view: Once you create a game, you’ll see the Game Editor window. Levels 4-1 to 4-5 are repeated as levels 7-1 to 7-5, but level 7-6 is added. For example, levels 1-1 to 1-4 are repeated as levels 4-1 to 4-4, but level 4-5 is added. The order of levels repeats after every third stage, however, one stage is added in this repetition. There are four levels in the first stage, five in the second, and six in the third. The arrangement of the levels of Luxor 2 are similar to the arrangement of rounds in Zuma. Multiple difficulty settings are available as well, with play at higher settings yielding higher scores. In «Story mode», the player earns titles/rankings as he or she progresses through the various levels. There are a total of 88 rounds of increasing difficulty, plus 13 bonus rounds which the player can play through. If the player succeeds in eliminating a certain number of spheres without this occurring, new spheres cease to arrive and the level can be completed by removing those which remain. If any sphere reaches the player's pyramid, he or she loses a life and is forced to restart the stage. When spheres are eliminated, adjacent spheres which now form a segment of three or more or the same color will also explode in a chain reaction.ĭuring gameplay, the on-screen spheres continuously move forward, pushed by additional small scarabs. Players do this primarily by shooting additional spheres from a winged scarab which they guide back and forth along the bottom of the screen. The game challenges the user to eliminate colored magical spheres by causing three or more spheres of the same color to collide. Luxor 2 is also available in a Windows Vista-only version from MSN Games which includes improved graphics over the previous computer versions. It can be purchased directly from the Xbox Live Marketplace. The game's console debut was on June 11, 2008, with its release via Xbox Live Arcade. The title can be played online at several different sites, and can be purchased for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Xbox Live Arcade. The best Xbox One headset we've tested for a mid-range price is the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7X Wireless. You can't apply settings like EQ presets or mic adjustment when you're connected to an Xbox, so they aren't as customizable for Xbox One gamers. They have a detachable mic and an integrated mic, which is nice if you want a more casual look sometimes. The boom mic is retractable but not detachable, so if you don't plan on using it, you might prefer the Astro A30 Wireless. Unfortunately, they aren't as well-built as the wireless variant. The app also has a virtual surround sound feature with a slider for adjusting the soundstage size, which can help make your audio seem more immersive. If you prefer a different sound, they work with companion software that includes a parametric EQ and presets for sound customization. Voices are present and clear but can lack detail or sound harsh. Their sound profile adds some boom to your audio, which can help bring out sound effects like footsteps. They're comfortable enough to wear for hours for most people and have a great overall mic performance, so you'll sound clear during online games, even with some noise in the background. They come with a GameDAC Gen 2, which provides a low-latency USB connection with Xbox and puts controls like EQ settings and channel mixing at your fingertips while you play. The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro for Xbox don't have any wireless connectivity or ANC, but they offer a solid performance for Xbox gamers at a lower price. If you're looking for a cheaper option, you might want the wired version of our top pick. That said, if you don't have the headphones on correctly, you may find their inner driver design pushes into your ears too. They also have a somewhat neutral default sound profile with a small bump in high-bass to help bring out sound effects like footsteps in gameplay. If you like to game with others, their retractable boom mic has a very good overall performance, ensuring that your voice sounds clear to teammates, even in moderately noisy environments. While it's not the best for tackling noise like engine noise from an open window, it does a better job of blocking out ambient chatter and the high-pitched hum of a standing fan. To round out their features, they're Bluetooth-enabled, allowing you to stay connected to your console and smartphone simultaneously, and they have noise cancelling (ANC). The transmitter also helps ensure a low-latency gaming experience. One battery lasts roughly 25 hours continuously, so you can game for long periods without worrying about battery life. Since they have a dual battery cartridge system, one battery can charge inside the transmitter while the other is in use. Their wireless transmitter puts controls like EQ customization and mic gain at your fingertips. These premium headphones deliver many features that are sure to please most gamers. Yes people, electric power isn’t the future, it’s very much the present. A Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing? What? Those proportions, they’re so right, could this really be a custom version of the real deal? Purists, you can breathe now – it’s based on an SLK32 AMG and sports a FRP recreation body of the real thing, all designed by our good friend Jon Sibal. Here is something that caught everyone by surprise. Needless to say, we’ll need to spend more time looking at and talking about this. It’s as if he took one of his iconic Japan-themed renders and hit the Shift+P to 3D print it into the real world. It also signifies the launch for a new venture for Khyzyl, which will see the carbon fiber wide-body conversion become available for purchase. Trevor has a spotlight coming up on this thing, so check back to find out more.Īnd speaking of character, there’s this: Khyzyl Saleem‘s BMW E30 was conceptualized in the virtual world and then turned into reality. It oozes character from any angle you care to look at it from. You know how you leave a show with memories of just a few special cars, well this gray Ferrari 328 slammed on Rotiform wheels is one of those for me. Tesla-powered RWB 1977 911? StreetFighter LA granted us special access to this impressive build before it ever got to SEMA, so for more on this beauty click here to read Trevor’s full feature. We’ve also hunted out another red example which combines these wild looks with plenty of substance in the engine bay – just how we like it. This year’s show-stopper was the Pandem widebody conversion for the FC3S Mazda RX-7, seen here fitted to the GReddy demo car. Having some of SEMA’s hottest cars grouped together, the ‘Treadpass’ is always one of the first places I visit. The idea here was to create something that would be easier to clean and maintain as the old school bronze was prone to oxidation.Īs always, Toyo Tires has created the nicest section of the show. So if you’re in Japan, you are out of luck! Curiously, the bronze matte finish is actually a color rather than a chemical treatment as it was done before on wheels like the TE37 and CE28N. RAYS has chosen SEMA to launch the bronze version of the Volk Racing TE037, a model that will only be sold to markets outside of Japan. How about a post on turbos, would that be fun? We’ll certainly be doing some parts hunting for you guys, maybe concentrating on something relevant to the scenes we like to cover. It never fails to amaze me how alive and flourishing the aftermarket industry is in the US there is so much available for pretty much every platform out there, so it’s no wonder it’s all evolved how it has. More performance-oriented builds are, however, something one can’t help but indulge in. While the 8ft high ‘Bro Trucks’ that pepper most halls here at SEMA are fun to look – especially for an Italian guy who’s lived in Japan for the past quarter of a century – all they do is make me wonder how weird and alien they would be to drive. There are trucks and then the are trucks. The rows and rows of cars are still there, but it’s noticeably less packed than previous years. It’s where we spotted this CAtuned BMW E30 with a quad headlight conversion. I’ve also noticed a substantial decline of cars on display outside of the halls, the first place most people walk through on their way into the venue. Obviously the bigger (and taller) the better. This is the good ol’ USA after all, and if there’s one type of vehicle that always goes down well at SEMA it’s trucks of every type and size. What I will tell you is that I’ve noticed a visible rise in the popularity of trucks. Trevor, Keiron, Dave and myself have been making our way through the Las Vegas Convention Center halls and the outside displays, and have already started selecting the cars and themes we want to take a closer look at. This year the Speedhunters are on full attack with four of us here you will be treated to a well-timed and constant selection of hand-selected goodness. Wow, yeah, there’s a lot of cheese in that statement, but it’s actually the best way to tackle what is without a doubt the biggest automotive show on the planet. You can’t really plan, so you just have to go with the flow, walk the halls, look at what’s around and what people are doing, and for how cheesy this will sound – let the show speak to you. Yes, that’s a lot of questions, but the best approach I’ve found is not to overthink things. Where do you start? What are the themes that are standing out? What do we show? What do we spotlight? Day one at the SEMA Show is always a scramble. And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
We wanted to create a naive type face that would feel done by Steve's character's hand without it being too precious or quirky. Kyle Snarr at StruckAxiom on the delicate type design: The cherry on top is the whimsical and varied custom typography: the letters slink in and out of sight, vulnerable and idiosyncratic, wavering between wide and narrow, further lending the titles a sense of clumsy sensitivity. In the opening of Dinner for Schmucks, a tiny bespectacled mouse and his redheaded mousette engage in the sweetest of romantic clichés, demonstrating an artistry so fine it leans toward obsession. The minutiae gives way to several astonishing tableau vivants of miniatures created by the Chiodo Bros., a trio of fantastically talented craftsmen who produce everything from stop-motion animation and puppetry to make-up effects and animatronics. The song, "The Fool on the Hill," kicks off a journey through a series of close-ups of itty-bitty objects being selected, constructed, and assembled. And as a mouse figurine has her hair dyed vermilion, Paul McCartney's melancholic voice shepherds us through the opening titles for the delightfully downcast 2010 screwball comedy, Dinner for Schmucks. From it a tiny hat is removed while the credits sidle in, superimposed. Monsterpiece Theater is a recurring segment on the American version of the popular children's television series Sesame Street, a parody of Masterpiece Theatre. The wooden case is opened and inside, an array of tiny accoutrements. While using Muppet characters to act out educational principles, primarily Grover and other Muppet monsters, Monsterpiece Theater is also a parody of the similarly acclaimed PBS show Masterpiece Theatre, now known simply as Masterpiece. The theme song is also a modified version of Fanfare-Rondeau, the Masterpiece theme song, only with trumpets and a much more upbeat tempo. Monsterpiece Theater is hosted by Alistair Cookie, Cookie Monster trying his best to look like Alistair Cooke. He wears a smoking jacket and holds a pipe which he usually ends up eating. The segments are loosely based on classic literature, plays, films, and TV shows. Similar segments, titled Mysterious Theater and parodying fellow PBS anthology Mystery!, are hosted by "Vincent Twice Vincent Twice," a parody of Vincent Price.Īlistair Cookie is Cookie Monster's alter ego when hosting Monsterpiece Theater. Created as a spoof of the original Masterpiece Theatre host Alistair Cooke, Alistair Cookie is basically Cookie Monster in an English smoking jacket and ascot tie, although Cooke was neither a pipe smoker nor did he wear a smoking jacket on Masterpiece Theatre. Though seemingly more sedate and urbane, Alistair Cookie is still a Cookie Monster, devouring baked goods, props-and in the revamped opening in the 1990s, noisily consuming cookies over the theme, while offering judicious comments on the texture.Īlistair Cookie introduced viewers to a spot of culture while relaxing in a well-stuffed armchair. He used to appear smoking a pipe and then eating it at the end of each piece. In a 2004 Chicago Public Radio interview, David Rudman (who performs Cookie Monster) referred to Cookie Monster's occasional use of more advanced phrases, such as "It a bit esoteric," as his Alistair Cookie side: In the late 1980s, the pipe was gone so as not to reinforce smoking as a positive attribute. He throws out these words like, you know, "Me digress." It's his whole Alistair Cookie side. It's a whole 'nother side of Cookie, where he's just kinda, you know, laid back and intellectual, but he still has that "Me Alistair Cookie," and it's just such a funny contrast. Īlistair Cookie is generally a detached party who simply serves as a frame for the Monsterpiece Theater spoofs. Occasionally, however, the participants take their grievances directly to Alistair Cookie ("Twelve Angry Men", "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"), crash into his sanctum ("The 39 Stairs"), or otherwise disrupt his hosting duties. On rare occasions, Cookie Monster himself stars in the sketches, as in "Twin Beaks", invariably winning rave critical reviews from Alistair Cookie. Alistair Cooke retired from Masterpiece Theater in 1992, replaced by American host Russell Baker, but this had no effect on Alistair Cookie, as reported in The Washington Post from February 24, 1993: "A spokeswoman for Sesame Street yesterday reassured its fans-and their children-that despite the change at the top, Cookie Monster will continue to appear as Alistair Cookie, the host of 'Monsterpiece Theater'-big chair, fireplace and all. RetinaEngrave 3.0 brings all the features of the Muse 3D laser engraver into one simple workflow process. Muse 3D Laser Engraver: Full Integration for Fastest Workflow Check out our compatibility showcase video that dives into multiple operating systems to show off the machine compatibility as we run it on multiple devices ranging from Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS. RetinaEngrave 3.0 is compatible with most operating systems and devices that can run an up-to-date web browser (such as Chrome, Safari, or Edge). So all you have you do is connect your Muse 3D Laser Engraver to your computer, either through your local network, or directly with an ethernet cable, and enter the address from the touch screen into your up-to-date web browser. There is no internet required for functionality either, since the software is hosted on the Muse 3D Laser Engraver itself. These files can be saved to your computer for instant access and there is never a delay to get things going because of cloud server issues. It is very useful to log this information after you have figured out the settings on a particular material, or after you've run a material test. This will save time and prevent you from having to remember what settings go with which job or material. The RE3 software offers the ability to not only save files, but the laser settings associated with each project as well. Muse 3D Laser Engraver: Settings and Files You can import your designs through the print driver or just convert to PDF and drag n’ drop the file straight into the interface. If you are comfortable with the design software you are already using, that’s no problem either. This gives you the ability to create custom shapes, add text, or even alter existing designs all within RetinaEngrave 3.0's software interface. RE3 includes a complete set of design tools and features in the software, just like you would see in dedicated design programs such as Inkscape or Illustrator. Muse 3D Laser Engraver: Functional Design and Operation This allows the user to focus more on the design and creative process rather than focusing on the laser itself and making the software function to fit their needs. Everything has been redesigned to create a user workflow that is much quicker and easier to use and navigate than ever before. Utilizing the best of modern interface design, we have simplified and streamlined the steps it takes to go from concept to cutting or engraving. The first thing users will notice is the intuitive layout and interface. With tens of thousands of Muse 3D Laser Engraver systems out there, this software continues to expand and grow to meet user needs. It is focused around making laser cutter usage easier and faster than ever before. RE3 is the result of almost ten years of customer feedback and active development. RetinaEngrave v3.0 (also known as RE3) is the standard software included with all Muse Series and P-Series laser systems. Muse 3D Laser Engraver: RetinaEngrave v3.0 Software |
